Genre: Puzzle-Platformer
Duration: September 2019 – February 2020
Engine: Unity

The interactions with the various objects are different according to the physical state of the jelly and the game exploits this peculiarity to test the player in a goofy and colorful environment.

My role

Flapper

I have designed and implemented the structure of the jelly, which is made of six bones with a collider attached to each of them.

Each bone is independent and the collisions with other objects make the jelly change shape.

I made the bones very movable and elastic to emphasized the gelatinous feeling and to underline the contrast with the other two states: solid and gaseous.

Puzzles

I have designed about half of the levels/puzzles, in particulars most of the initial levels and some of the intermediate ones.

The goal of the game was to be played and evaluated by other students in a short play session (10 to 20 minutes), so I designed the first puzzles to be very short and have a clear solution. By this way the player is able to intuitively understand the core mechanics of the game and she is able to progress to more advanced puzzles.

Overall development

In addition to the above, I contributed to the development of most areas of the games.

I designed, implemented and tuned various interactions and I playtested all the levels.

Flapper in its basic state. In this state it can jump, absorb small objects and carry them.
Flapper in gaseous state. In this state it can fly and it glides instead of jumping.
Flapper in solid state. In this state it is heavier and it can push heavy objects.
